dI have recently update Office 2003 from Microsoft website. Now both in Excel
and Word when I select FILE/OPEN option, both applications are simpley
freezing. Power Point is working fine. Any Idea what can be the problem

Same problem with FrontPage. Seems to be a conflict with a weekend security
update and HP software products and requires a registry modification.

Thanks for your prompt response. Any idea what sort of modifications are
required in registry so I can do the needful.

Dear Tom,

I followed the instructions and edited Registry file and added all necessary
parameters on Compaq Evo but still unable to run Word and Excel...

Hi Rishi,

Does your computer have Nvidia graphics utility software running?

On your HP-Compaq computer if either of these tasks is running

hpgs2wnd.exe
hpgs2wnf.exe

you may want to try stopping them and checking for the update for the HP programs on their website.

Renaming the Verclsid.exe file may also help as a temporary workaround.
