word default settings(SHOW/HIDE)

How can I set up word so that when I open a document the Show/Hide tool is
not selected. I don't know how it happened, but it shows up every time I
open word. I know how to disable it once I'm in but I'd like to be able to
start typing without that paragraph marker every time.

Add the following line to each of an autoopen and an autonew macro in
normal.dot http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm

ActiveWindow.ActivePane.View.ShowAll = False
