WORD document numbering problem

Curly brackets "{page}" appear where the page number is to be. How do I
correct this? Thanks.

Somehow you've landed in the PowerPoint newsgroup, not the Word
newsgroup. However, to answer your question, go to the Tools menu and
choose Options. Click on the View tab and uncheck the box next to Field
Codes.

You can also toggle ALT+F9 to switch back and forth.

Aha! Now the problem makes sense. It seemed strange that someone would
accidentally check the box for Field codes, but a simple Alt-F9 could
happen to anyone.

By the way, to toggle a field, you can also right-click and select "Toggle
Field Codes".
