Word document properties and user modifications

I have a word document that I need to find out who has been editing it.
But all I can find out (in properties) is the last person who saved it and
that it has been modified about 20 times.
How do I find the rest of the users that have been working on it?
Thanks

Hi C

The short answer is that you can't see that information.

The long answer is:

1. If Track Changes is on in the document, and changes have not been
accepted or rejected, then the author of the changes will be stored with
each change. How you see if there are tracked changes in your document
depends on your version of Word. See
http://www.ShaunaKelly.com/word/trackchanges/HowTrackChangesWorks.html for
information on how to do that.

2. Make a backup copy of the document in question. In Word, choose File >
Open. In the Files of Type box, choose "Recover Text from Any File". And
open your backup document. What you will see will appear to contain the text
of your document and a whole lot of what is apparently "garbage". However,
near the end of the file you might find some useful information about the
last few times the document was saved.

Only do this on a backup copy of your document. This is because if you open
the real document this way, and you accidentally save it, you will have
saved the unformatted "garbage" text.

In some versions of Word, the Files of Type setting is sticky. You will have
to go back to File > Open to set it back to Word documents or All Word
Documents.

Hope this helps.
