Word (MS Office 2003) - File Search Error

Attempting to pull up Word attachments from home pc and Word (I believe)
keeps pointing to my C: drive and says it cannot find attachment. Does not
happen with Excel or other types of attachments. If I change File Search
options to 'Everywhere' the attachment will come up. However, these settings
do not remain permanent. Any thoughts on how to make settings permanent, or
reset Word.
