Word X uses up more and more memory

The longer Word X is opened, the more memory it takes, going from 36M to 86 MB.
Is this a normal behavior? Is there any way around?

It is difficult to tell... It depends on a lot of factors. I know some
early version of Word had what appeared to be memory leaks. Which
version are you running ?? ?version 10.1.4 ???
