Write protect error

Trying to use a remote storage drive with Publisher to edit files on
different home computers. Once file is saved I get a disk write protect error
anytime I try to edit a file. The remote storage works with Xcel and Word but
wont work with Publisher. Any ideas?

The only thing that I can think of where one program is not allowing edits
of existing documents created by it, it is likely that that program is
treating that file uniquely. For example I could see that if your are using
Publisher's "publish" function as you might if using its ability to produce
web pages, then it would not allow you to edit that "PUBLISHED" document
because it views the document as done and available to the audience you
intended it for.

I would suggest that if you have been 'publishing' incomplete documents that
you simply save the document. I'm not a Publisher user, so I'm not entirely
sure what the exact menu item or command is to do that but I'm sure there
has to be a away to save interim progress of something you eventually intend
to 'Publish.'

If you need additional help you might include the information about what
kind of project you are doing and what version of Publisher you are using.
