Activating Check Boxes

C

Chris @ Selco

I have been given a word document that contains some check
boxes. However, these check boxes are only that..boxes.
I need to somehow "activate" them so that we can click on
them and put an "x" inside of them electronically. I dont
know how to do this.
Any advice out there? Thanks

Sounds like your document needs to be a "form." Use the
office help feature to find out more about forms.

On the Forms toolbar, there is a checkbox you can insert
in your document, and right-clicking will allow you to
choose checked or unchecked.

Your check boxes are "form fields." Turn on your Forms toolbar. You ca
insert more from here if you like, as well as other types of for
fields. The form must then be "locked" to work (click the littl
padlock on the right end of the toolbar). When you do this, you can ta
through the form fields and they will all work as planned, but yo
won't be able to edit the rest of the document without "unlocking" th
document (using the same button). Don't forget to save it "locked" fo
the form to work properly
