all my files have changed

I had downloaded Microsoft Word just to try it out but it changed all my
documents into the Microsoft Word and now because it has done that, I cannot
type in asnything in my essay because it comes up saying "Word Viewer cannot
edit document"

The Word Viewer (free) is not Word, but it seems to have grabbed your file
associations. What word processing program were you previously using?
