Archive tag won't set in MS Publisher 2003

Can anyone tell me why, after saving my work on MS publisher files, the
Attribute tag for archiving never gets checked? Is there a setting to allow
this to be set when saved? The file size is 2.6MB and I'm running MS
Publisher 2003.

All files or just those you have copied from removable media.

Thanks for the prompt response Mary, but the file in question was created
locally on my hard drive and has never seen the light of a CD or DVD. Any
ideas?

I don't know why this is happening. I am assuming it is an OS issue rather than
a Publisher issue, maybe permissions. I've gone through all my files on my XP
machine and there are many that don't have the archive check off, however when I
copied all the files to the Vista machine the archive became checked without any
input from me.

In one Knowledge Base article it was stated that when one did a backup the
archive bit was removed, but this only related to Windows Server 2003. There is
a hot fix available.
