ASK field in a Word 2003 Mail Merge

I thought in the past, if you put in the Ask field, it would show you the
record it was merging each time the prompt displayed. That way I knew how to
answer the prompt. Now, the document is blank and I can't determine who's
record the ASK is prompting for.


Any help?

The Ask and Fill-in prompts have never indicated which record you were
on unless you included a merge field or fields in the prompt. I
suspect this is what you did in the past.

Open your mail merge document and press Alt + F9 to toggle the field
codes and insert the merge fields in the Ask prompt. Press Alt + F9 to
toggle the field codes back off.
