ASP.NET

Hi,

Can anyone tell what version of ASP.NET I need to install on my Windows 2003 SP1 64bit server so I can use the Groove Manager?

Every I run the Manager in Internet Explorer, I receive Event Viewer errors based on my ASP.NET.

Thanks.

Steve.

Hi SBC,

Thanks for your response. Well I've lost count of the amount of times I have gone through the Min Reqs and I'm sure I meet them all!

Here is the order in which I install my progs:

1. IIS + SMTP.
2. 64 BIT Netframework 2.0
2. I run the command C:\windows\microsfot.net\framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe -i (to install ASP.NET)
3. I enable the ASP.NET in IIS.
4. I install SQLEXPRESS enable port 1433.
5. I install the Groove Relay Server.
6. I enable the Relay Service.
7. I install the Groove Manager. Specify the SQL database (no problems).

When I go to run the Groove Manager I just a blue screen with a logo in the top right corner! Warning and Errors appear in the event viewer. I have attached my screenshot of the internet explorer and also my event viewer save as files.

Do you see anything wrong with what I am doing?????????????

Thanks

Steve.

The sys reqs are described here -
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/grooveserver/HA101945381033.aspx

For my deployment, I have also installed .NET v2 & .NETv3 framework.

Steve -

I'll need to take a look at the Event logs. Let's take this offline: create
a Groove 2007 workspace and send me an invitation (to email below) or look me
up in the Groove Public directory (SBC 2007).

Hi,

Well you may be onto something with ASP.NET. I do run the regis -i command to install it but I haven't disabled 32bit mode before?! I wonder if this is the cause!

I will try this ASAP and let you know how I get on!

thanks again.

Steve.

Steve -

Also verify that the IIS mode is for 64bit. See here -
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;894435

You need to be in 64b mode as the Groove Server is a 64b app

I must be doing something fundamentally wrong during my installation, even after running a fresh install of Windows 2003 Standard 64bit and disabling the 32bit ASP, Groove will not work at all!!! I just get warnings in the Event Viewer about the Groove Management Server.

What do I install first? Groove Relay or Manager ?

Steve. (wits end!)
