Assigning Resource Names to Complete Category

In MS Project 2003 how do you assign the same resource names to about six
tasks that all come under the same "Category" (this is a new column I
inserted).For example, I have a category called HR Issues and within that
category about six tasks. The same four resource names need to be assigned
to all four tasks.

I am not sure what workgroups are either. Are they a team of people
assigned to a specific group of tasks? If so, how do I set them up?

I think my confusion about workgroups lies in the fact that, although there
may be six different people within the workgroup and all assigned to the same
project, not all of them will work on all the subtasks.

Hi,

Activate the Resource Assignment window (icon with two heads on the toolbar)
Select all the tasks you want
In the Resource assignment window select teh resoruces
Click Assign

A "workgroup" refers more to communications via email than it does to
resource assignemnts as such. A "workgroup" might be the internal employees
working on the project who have email accounts on your corporate server in
contrast to people who are external to your organization
