I am using Windows XP Home edition. I would like to use
the auto reply but I do not have it. It says that to go
to tools, auto reply, but this is not even on my tool
bar. Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

Correct - the Out of Office Assistant is a server-side option, not client

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer
