BCWS in EV report

When I produce an EV report for all task (no summary task
option selected) I get one value for BCWS. Then making no
changes to the plan (e.g., status date, current date,
etc.) and print another EV report this time looking at
selected summary tasks, including the summary task for the
entire project BCWS shows a significantly different
value. Other values on the report (e.g., BCWP, and ACWP)
are identical between the two reports. Any ideas on what
might be happening?

Additional information, Just tried an experiment. I ran
two reports, one showing summary tasks the other not
totals displayed were different. When summary tasks are
shown the total (at the end of the report) matched that
shown for the entire project summary task (as I would
expect). But in the report where summary tasks are not
shown the total at the end of the report is different that
in the report where summary tasks are shown.

Do you have resources assigned to those summary tasks? If so that will
seriously distort the work values, thus BCWS. With only one exception that
I can think of offhand, one should never assign resources to summary tasks.
