Can Not Open Publisher After Download

Hi, Publisher will not let me open it after downloading
onto the computer from a purchased CD. It goes through
the whole process and when we get to the point where we
are to enter the numbers the screen will not let me put
my name, initials and the product numbers that came with
the CD. I have downloaded it before on another computer
that just has died and I have replaced it with my son's
Compaq in my classroom. This is a piece of software that
is important to my class because they want to publish a
class newsletter. This software was purchased by me.
Can anyone help?

What do you mean by "will not let me put [my details] in"?
What version of Publisher are you trying to install?
What version of Windows are you running?
What spec is the computer you are trying to install on?
