Can't get my personal file folder to import or open

I'm getting the message, "properties for this information
service must be defined prior to use." I went to my
personal file folder on my cd and attempted to change it
from read only to archive, but couldn't.

Any suggestions?

Cd "ROM" = Read Only Memory.
Copy it to your HDD first.

On your CD? CD files are always read only.
Move it to your hard drive first.
