Can't open express for newsreader

I've got office 2003 installed and use Outlook for mail. I want to use
Express for newgroups but each time I open it, the pgm crashes and must be
closed. "has encountered a problem and must be closed" or words to that
effect. Any ideas?

outlook or express closes? if express, see tomsterdam.com for
troubleshooting. You might have a bad dbx file.
