Change the Start Date and shift all tasks

Julia

I am using Project 2007. I want to change the start date for my
schedule by 9 days, from July 2, 2007 to July 11, 2007, and have all
tasks in the schedule shift the same 9 days. When I use the Project
Information window and change the start date, only those tasks that
specifically start on that date actually shift. What am I doing
wrong? (I searched for this problem and found something similar, but
it was dealing with Project 2003 and that fix did not work for me,
i.e. I added the "Actual Start" column (and all of the dates said
NA). Then I copied my Start column dates into the Actual Start
column. Then I again changed the Start Date to July 11. Now none of
the dates change.) Please help. Thank you!

Use the Adjust Dates Macro located on the analysis toolbar.
First, 0% all the progress on the project- a shortcut to do that is to
delete all the [Actual Start] dates. You should consider copying the
%Complete to a spare column in case you want to copy it back.
Then use the Adjust Dates Macro located on the analysis toolbar.
Re-adjust the %Complete as required.

Jim and Mike,

I was able to use parts of both of your advice. That was much easier
than it would have been to move everything manually. Thank you very
much!
