Comparing Documents

A colleague and I are working separately on different parts of a document. When he sends his copy back to me I would like to create one document that represents all of the changes. I am using "track changes" and he most likely is not. Can I use "versions" or "compare documents" to accomplish this using Word 2000. Thank you for your time.

You can use Compare Documents to show the differences.

Does it matter which document I open up first as the "edited" document since they have both been edited.
