Contact file Creation date restore

I have moved my Contacts folder from the server to my PC HD. I needed to do
this to be able to export the files to Excel format (seemed not possible to
do this from the server). The problem is that due to moving the folder all
the Contacts files Creation dates are reset to the time & date when moved. I
need to know when a file is created so I can do some cleanup after some years
of use! The Excel export file still holds the original creation dates. How
can I use these to restore the Contacts files (without typing the original
creation date into every single Contacts file)?

I'm not sure what you did, why you needed to move the contacts from th
server, or how you did it. But - generally speaking, once you d
something to make the contacts look new, you can't reset the create
date. If the date is critical, you should never trust that field, it
too easily changed. The date belongs in the notes field

#1 - If your Excel file of exported contacts contains the correct creation
date - then you exported a different folder then the one you moved the
contacts to since there is only one creation date for a given contact item
#2 - The only folder(s) you cannot export are those that are part of the
Public Folders group (or from Shared mailboxes). Contacts located in the
default Exch mailbox can be exported
#3 - There is no way to manually change a contact's creation date - this is
automatically set when the contact item is created and cannot be
over-ridden
#4 - Given the description of performing "cleanup" - the intent is to
update your existing contacts. That would be a challenge using the Outlook
import wizard if you wanted to update the existing contacts. If the plan
was to simply re-import the "cleaned-up" contacts to an empty contact
folder - you would not be able to retain the original creation date.

You may find the following of interest

ContactGenie Toolkit & DirectPort both have export functionality that
allows you to export any contact folder (from PST, Exch Mailbox and Public
Folders) - export functionality in both of these is unrestricted and does
not require a license (ergo - Export is free)

ContactGenie DirectPort is specifically designed for those cases where the
requirement is to update contact info in bulk "offline". It will re-import
the data updating the original contacts (you can also designate contact
items to be deleted when imported). Original field data for such things as
Creation Date and Contact Links etc are not altered. (DirectPort will only
update the original contacts in the original folder from which these were
exported).
