Copy and Paste Between Databases

I create a series of multiple customized one page reports. I store templates
of these reports in a separate database and copy and paste them from the
"Report Templates.accdb" to a "Client Report.accdb". Occassionally I also
want to copy tables, queries, and modules from accdb to accdb as well.

Initiatlly, this was no problem; copy and paste of objects could be
accomplished by cutting or copying and pasting or by simply dragging objects
from database to database. However, recently I am no longer able copy and
paste between files.

I now get a message saying " Could not use "C\Doucments and
Settings\....source.accdb'; file already in use. " I seem to be able to
resolve this temporarily by rebooting and then opening only the two accdb
files involved in the transfer but the solution does not last.

Does anyone know what is happening here and / or if there is a setting or
configuration that I can adjust to allow ease of transfer of objects between
databases?

From an earlier post I learned that it is better to import from another
database rather than cut and paste. However, importing is a little less
convenient and while an acceptable work around I would still like to know why
I cannot cut and paste between databases. Neither files are read only and I
have admin access on the computer so no restrictions that I am aware of are
causing this problem.
