Copy/Paste link

I have two users that are doing the same thing but getting different results
and I can't find why.

We have Outlook 2002 on XP. What they are doing is copying a link from a web
application and pasting it into an email.

One of them gets the URL as text, while the other gets a shortcut
attachment. The desired result is the text version, since Outlook doesn't
have a problem with those as it does with the Icon.

Any ideas what I need to do to correct this "problem"?

TIA

Ask them what steps they're each following to copy the link. Apparently
they're doing something different.

Because secure versions of Outlook block shortcut files, I recommend that
you use a little free add-in for Internet Explorer when you want to send
someone a link to a page. You can get MailTo_URL from
http://www.slipstick.com/addins/gallery/index.htm#mailto. It adds an "Email
Page" command to the right-click menu in IE and uses the title of the page
for the subject of the mail message.

Make sure that the registry entry you create to tell IE where to find the
application matches the location where you save the program.

I figured out what it was.

The user getting the icon was using Word as their email editor. Now they
aren't.
