Copy/Paste to Outlook

Shiv

hi,

I have an issue with Copying/Pasting specific selected tasks to Outlook.
Normally, I select the tasks from the Gantt View on the left, hit copy then
I go to Outlook (new message) and hit Edit/Paste Special/Pictures (Window
Metafile) and it will copy the tasks I've selected - but it also copy the
gantt pic from the right hand pane and takes some info from there including
resource info (even if I push it right off the screen).

Can anyone help me to just copy and paste into Outlook what I've slected
from Project. I'm using Project 2000.

Thanks,
Shiv

Hi Shiv,

I don't have Project 2000 accessible right now, but if the problem you are
having is picking up part of the Gantt chart, try displaying the Task Sheet
view (View>More Views) and copying from there. The Task Sheet view is the
left side of the Gantt chart view without the Gantt chart. You can hide any
part of the table you don't wish to copy (for example the Resource names
column).

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie,

Thanks for the tip but it only hald solved my problem :-(
Now I don't get the gantt info on the right so thats great however.....I am
still getting this box around the selected text when I paste it into Outlook.
It would be better if u could see it so I hope I'm explaining myself clearly.
Perhaps its a screen resolution issue as I'm now working off a monitor and
I'm not sure it happened when I was working off my laptop screen.

Any ideas ?

Hi Siobhan,

It could be more of an issue about Outlook than Project. If I set up
Outlook to use Word as my email editor, and paste special as a picture, I
get what looks like a table with gridlines. If I do just a straight paste,
it drops the text in without the gridlines.

If you want just straight text, just paste the data in without the paste
special as picture.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
