Copying website

I copied my site (to save the old copy) and make additions
and changes to my site. When I try to open pages in the
new (copied) site I get the message xxx.htm is not a valid
Win32 application. Is there anything I can do to use the
new (copied) site?

A web site is more than a collection of unrelated files. If you simply
copied the files and folders, that is probably where you made your mistake.
The correct way to "copy" a web site is to use FrontPage to publish it from
one location to another.

Is it possible to recover what is in the "copy"?

It sounds like you are trying to open pages in the new site by
double-clicking them in Windows Explorer, and that the .htm extension is
not associated with any program on your computer. Do you have the
problem if you open Front Page, File | Open Web, and then Open the page?

Yes, I can open the web by opening FP and then going to
the site in my files and opening it. Thank you! Is it
possible to set up to associate the .htm extension
automatically?

Glad it worked. Yes, you can associate a file easily but it works
slightly differently depending on which version of Windows you're
running. In all versions, open Windows Explorer and navigate to any file
with an htm extension. Right-click on it. What you're looking for is an
option that says "Open with", or something like it. In Windows XP Home,
the option is Open With | Choose Program. Then you would select, if you
like, Microsoft FrontPage from the list.
