Date annoyance

Using Office XP Professional. Whenever I type a date a little pop up
appears with a different format of date and if I hit return (which I
would often be doing as the date is usually at the top of a letter) then
it inserts the date format in the pop up box. I want the date the way I
have typed it in, so find this most annoying. Is there any way of
turning it off. I have looked through options etc and cannot find
anything that appears to relate to it.

Type a space after the date, and then the suggestion will go away. Or
you can turn off all AutoText suggestions by clicking on Tools |
AutoCorrect Options | AutoText tab | uncheck the "Show AutoComplete
suggestions" box | OK, but then you won't get suggestions for any of
your AutoText entries.

It sounds like your auto-complete entries need to be edited to show the date
the way you want it. Tools->Autocomplete.

Try autocorrect.
