Dates that change by themselves on emailed schedules

We have installed MS Project on the computer but when I
email a schedule to someone else (even if they have ver
2003) several of the dates change for the recipient. Also
I can't change some of the dates or number of days that
are in bold. Has anyone else had this problem and/or been
able to correct it.

"Durations and dates that are in bold" belong to summary tasks and are
calculated by Project; you indeed cannot change them:
Start of a summary task is the earliest of all start dates of the tasks
covered
Finish of a summary task is the latest of all finish dates of the tasks
covered
Its Duration is the distance in-between in working time.

As for dates changing in different environments: does either of you connect
to a resource pool?

I had that problem once, and I believe it had something to
do with settings on individual's computers. Do either of
you have automatic leveling checked?
