delete file names

I want to delete my first sample presentations. The files are now gone, but
the opening screen of PP asks if I want to choose any of the existing files.
Those references are the ones I want to delete. This list appears only on
the opening screen where you have the choice of creating a new presentation
or choosing an existing one. I opened and closed PP and then restarted the
computer. The darn references are still there. I need to use the same names
in a new presentation so I want those references gone. HELP! Dave M.

Those are from the "most recently used" list. You can go ahead and reuse those
names for new presentations with no problem. But one way to get rid of the
references now, if you want, is in the following:
