Brian Thank you. i have tried that. it prints the info on a 8.5x11 page in
landscape. it shinks the info to 1/2 its normal size. my pub 2000 had a print
setting of book or booklet, that i don't see in 2003. now that it has been
converted to 2003 it won't print in an earlier version. i am stuck with
either rebuilding 88 page book from scratch or figuring out how to make it
work. what i want is. if you look at a pub file in a two page view. it will
print like a spiral bound notebook. no fold down the middle of the page, like
a magazine. the printer woold print all the odd pages then you would turn the
pages so the printer would print the even pages on the back. i hope this is a
more detailed explanation of what i am looking do do. thank you in advance
for your help

You will want to use the Duplex Print add-in from
http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=43, and the Full Page page
setup.

(There was no feature in Publisher 2000 to make this any easier)

Thanks Ed for your trouble, but i still cant figure it out! Let me back up a
little. I am new to Publisher 2003. I have recently upgraded my computer to
Windows 2000 and Office Pro 2003. I thought I might have been Dreamin'. So i
got out my old computer tonight. The problem my be in the printer driver. My
old computer with Windows ME, when I try to print would bring up the standard
pinter box, click properties and click the features tab and from there it
gave me a box for 2 sided printing. I could select in that box for "Booklet",
"Tablet" Or "None". I am using the same printer. (In fact it is the same
computer just the OS ugrade and the Office Suite.) The properties box had a
Hewlet Packard logo in it. None of this is on the new box that comes up with
clicking "Print" from Publisher. Do you think this could this be a Driver
problem? do the print dialog boxes change from home editions to professional
systems? I only upgraded for stability! Windows ME caused me a lot of
trouble. Now I'm stuck because I converted the file from 2000 to 2003 and
cant print from the old computer with 98 SE and 2000, it tells me I can't
open that file. Thanks for your time

Do you have Service Pack 3 for Win2000 ? This is specified as the
minimum but I make no promises as I use Win XP.

This is indeed a driver problem - the Windows ME drivers were HP-supplied
and had all the advanced features. It sounds like you are now using the
built-in Windows 2000 drivers, that do not support all the functionality of
the printer.
You might want to check out www.hp.com for newer updated drivers for your
printer.

John I am using Serv Pack 4the real problem is 2 sided printing. Please read

Ed thanks for your help! The fix was to buy a new printer! Any printer that
was built or is built prior to the OS uses windows universal drivers instead
of HP written drivers and some functions are lost! in the change! got a
really cool new printer out of this!!!! Randy Bligh
