Do inserted comments take up actual space in the document?

I'm just wondering if when you insert a comment into a document, does it take
up actual space in the document? Like so that page breaks eventually get
moved?

Not in the printed version. Turn off the Show/Hide or
(Ctrl+*). What you see now is what you will have when printed.
