Does Publisher have a template for a book cover?

You have to be joking.. part of the essence of Publisher is the ability to
be creative.. go into a library or book store.. look at covers.. remember
what you see.. go home and construct a cover using the many tools available
in Publisher..

No, I'm not joking - I have only used Publisher once and thought it might be
an easy tool for my son to use on a school project. I was hoping one of the
Office products would have a template that would make it easy for him to key
in some text and add some graphics. If it takes more time and effort than
drawing on a piece of construction paper, it's of no use to him.

Even tho I love Publisher, I'd recommend the construction paper, some
crayons, glue, glitter, and a little imagination. :)

When Publisher is opened, the left side of the screen shows a box with
options for new publications.. one of the options is 'Publications for
Print'..click on it..

If this box doesn't show, you click on FILE - NEW.. hundreds of templates
show up.. eighty templates show under 'Quick Publications' alone, all of
which could be used or easily adapted as book covers..

This is true of Publisher 2003 and 2002.. I have no doubt that JoAnn or Mary
could advise you re. earlier versions..

Maybe you and your son could sit down and learn together for a few minutes..
kids these days learn very fast..

What an old fashioned 'miss' you are.. :)

My kids were appearing in a Nativity play one year, and each of the cast was
asked to supply at least one 'star' that could be hung over the stage.. we
had a ball with glue and glitter.. as did the dog and the cat..

Yep, I sure am. I just believe you should cultivate a sense of creativity.
Yes, I know, you can do it with a computer but don't you remember how much
fun it was to sit at the kitchen table and make things like picture frames
with macaroni spray-painted gold or trinket boxes made from popsicle sticks.
And did you ever make "fried marbles"? There are so many neat things
available now that we didn't have, like glittery glue, it almost seems a
pity to sit a child in front of a computer to make a book cover.
