Alex Can't Save in PDF

I bought publisher 2007, and I need to save in PDF. I tried downloading the
update from Microsoft but the update is for ALL office 2007 programs and the
verification process failed because it said I didn't have Office 2007. I
don't! I only bought Publisher 2007. Do I need to buy Office 2007 just so I
can save my publisher files in PDF, that seems pretty ridiculous. Help! :)

Hi, Alex ... from within Publisher, click on Help --> Microsoft Office
Online ... from there, click on the Downloads tab ... in the Search box,
type Publisher 2007 Save as PDF and press the Search button.

A page will come up that will have a link to an add-in called Save as PDF
and XPS ... click on that link. After validation of your Publisher 2007
installation, you will be taken to the download link button where you can
download the file SaveasPDFandXPS.exe (933K) ... download this file.

Close all programs and all windows. Navigate to the folder where you saved
this file and run it. It will install the ability to Save As PDF files and
XPS files in your Publisher installation. You will find it under File -->
Publish as PDF or XPS ...

I bought Microsoft Office Publisher 2007 online from Microsoft and was able
to download and install this add-in. Hope it works for you. Be sure to click
on the validation links to get to the download page.

If you are sure this is the file you downloaded before, and still can't get
it to install, save it in your Public Downloads folder and try running it
while you are logged in to an administrator account.

I did just this, but this is what it said when I ran the validation:

*********

Microsoft Office Publisher 2007

The product(s) listed above completed validation. However, as a result of
the failed or incomplete validation(s) listed below, this computer is not
eligible for the benefits of genuine Office. Remove the application(s) that
failed or could not complete validation and run the validation tool again.

Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage:
Validation Failed

The product key used to install Office has been blocked by Microsoft.

*****************************************

I'm guessing it's because I don't have ALL the Office 2007 programs like,
powerpoint, excel, ect. I only have Publisher 2007, I bought it by itself.

What about these third-party pdf converter programs, could that be a
solution??

Thanks for all your help!

The following free .pdf creator can be quite useful:

Try this...

Download and install the following free PDF Creator.

PrimoPDF
http://www.primopdf.com/
(if you only have a few files to convert...you can even
do it online)

With your new program installed...open your project
in Publisher and go to...File / Print.

On your Print screen...open the drop window and
select PrimoPDF as your printer.

Click...OK...now you will see the PrimoPDF screen
and you can browse to a save folder.

When you click...OK..your .pdf file will be created
in your save folder.

The resulting .pdf file can be viewed on any computer
that has the free Adobe Reader installed.

Erm, no, it's exactly why it says. You have a copy of Office XP with
FrontPage installed somewhere on your computer that the validation tool
doesn't like. Uninstall that or reinstall it with a legitimate product key.

Thanks! I unistalled it, and re-installed it with my version of Office 03.
Now the validation tool likes it. Loves it actually. I downloaded the add-in
and now I can save in PDF. Good job everybody, you guys are great!
