Duplicating shapes in Visio 2003

How can I duplicate/copy org chart shapes in Visio 2003 and maintain the
"new" size I have given them? My org charts are very big and I had to
re-size the shapes. When I "duplicate" them, Visio gives me new shape which
is in the ORIGINAL Visio size and not my NEW size. So, I have to go back and
re-size each and every one. Format painter does not work either for this. I
can't believe this sophisticated program can't do this so I hope someone can
help me.

Thanks,

Thanks but I need more info. Actually, I know how to change the shape after
it has been pasted using the method you suggested, but I have about 60 copies
of this "new shape" I had to create to paste in and would like to avoid
typing in "new specs" for each box. Is there some way to "create a new
default shape" or change Visio's default shape for this "level box"???

Thanks much

The answers are Yes, and, sort of.

Yes, you can crate a new default shape. Take your existing shape, make the
changes to lock it's dimensions, and then save it to a new stencil. This has
the advantage that you still of the orignal Visio version available and your
new version. Disadvantage, you have to load the new stencil. The second
question, changing Visio's default, is only locally, by changing the document
stencil copy. The advantage is that one change will correct all occurances
in your document. Disadvantages, this is only a local copy and affects all
subsequent new placements.

Can you do anything directly to the Visio master copy? Not really.
