Email confirmation of submitted forms

I would like to know if it is possible to create a rule in Infopath with will
allow email notification to be sent to a person after submitting a form. So
ultimately a way of having some kind of tracking/trace number or something
that they can use after the fact.

Hi,

Can you please try these steps.


1. Go to Tools menu and select data connections.
2. Click on “Add†and select “Submit dataâ€. Click on next.
3. Select “As an Email Message†option and click on next.
4. Select “FX†button beside of the TO field.
5. Select the field where you are getting the “To†value from. (Ex: if you
are entering in the form, enter that field path; or if you are getting from
any secondary data source, enter secondary data source path)
6. If you want Select CC same as To field.
7. Enter the Subject what you want.
8. Click on next and click on finish.
9. Now double click on the submit button.
10. Click on rules and click on “Add†button.
11. Select “Add Action†button from Rule window.
12. Select “Submit Using a data connection†from action dropdown.
13. Select your email data connection in the “Data Connection†dropdown.
14. Click on ok.
