email notification of an upcoming milestone

i want Project to send out an email to the assigned resource at a specified
time prior to a milestone date. Is this possible?

I have MS Project 2003 and I have functionally the same question. The value
of Project to my workgroup would be the ability to pre-set standard
notifications to project stakeholders inside and outside of my organization.
