Embedded grapics dissapper in Word when I scrolling up/down. Why?

J

Jens

On my new laptop (Toshiba M45- S331 with Windows XP Professional and Office
2002), I have the problem that graphics or photos embedded in Word documents
suddenly dissapear when I scroll up or down. Only when I change the view
(e.g. to print-preview), or when I start typing again, the graphics show up
instantly.

It seems to me that the refresh-function within Word does not function
properly.

Needless to say that the same happens with any of my old files, but at the
same time ALL the files, including the new ones generated on the new laptop,
show up normally on any other computer, meaning that it is not an issue of
corrupted files.
Any help or comments are very much appreciated.

Sounds like a video driver issue but I don't know if Word is as picky about
them as Publisher is.

How do you suggest to find out what the cause of the problem is? And if it
was the driver, how should I try to resolve that issue?
Thanks,
Jens

You could always try updating your driver.

Thanks all for the replies.
I resolved the issue by partly de-activating the graphics-accelerator. Now
all graphics show up nicely when scrolling.

Wow! I was at wits end and can't wait to try this. I replaced a graphics card
(ATI) last week and had the same problem. I ended up building a new computer
this weekend and it is doing it too! I guess ATI has a bug in their new
software!

Thanks for your post...I hope it works.!
