ERROR: Corrupt and Redundant DB - Cannot Open Groove

Jenay

Have a user who has been using Groove for about 6 months. Last week she got
this error:

"Groove has detected that a service database has become corrupt. The
redundant database copy has been used to recove the original database and
Groove must now shutdown."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Groove, uninvited her from the Workspace,
and reinvited. There are 10 users in the same workspace, all on different
machines, she is the only one with the problem. Tried to use
GrooveClean.exe, wouldn't even load.

Any suggestions?

Hi Jenay,

When does this error come up? Is this when the user logs into Groove or is
it when you enter a workspace?

It sounds like some Groove account files have become corrupted.

When you try to enter a workspace. Can I create a new account for her? If
so, can you tell me how? I found instructions for GrooveClean, tried that,
but it didn't ever launch. Thanks!

Hi Jenay,

Make sure you run a grooveclean –all. Also make sure that Groove is
completely shut down (click on the Groove icon in the system tray and select
Exit).

After you run grooveclean –all, all space and account data will be removed.
Then when you restart Groove, the program will ask you to create a new
account.

Tried this, it brought up a blank command prompt. When I tried to close it,
it told me it needed more time, so I let it just sit for a while. The prompt
is gone, but when I tried to get back on Groove, it gave me the same error
and didn't ask me to make a new account.

Will I have the same problem if I move her to a new machine?
