Hi
We have been running MSPS2002 for a few months now, with
MSP2002 client.
This week we have seen an odd message appear when
assigning Generic resources to tasks. The message reads .
"This is not a valid field name. Click a field name in
the list, and then press ENTER."
The message only pops up when a Generic resource is
assigned. If you untick a resources Generic flag and
assign it then you don't get the message.
If you build a plan with Generic Enterprise resources in
it, save it as an mpp file, open the plan working offline
(not connected to project server) and assign the same
Generic resource to a task, you don't get the message.
If you create a local Generic resource in an Enterprise
project and assign it to a task then you do get the
message.
So the message only appears when assigning a generic
resource while connected to Project Server.
Has anyone got any ideas what is causing the message to
pop up, and how to resolve it?
Many Thanks
Stuart.
