Everytime I try to activate word, it reinstalls what do i do?

I follow the instructions on the website. It says go to help, click activate
product, then click convert. I'm good up to there but then as soon as I
click convert, it asks me what i want to do: reinsall, uninstall, or repair.
What should I do?
