Excel 2007 File Open Problem - Me Too

T

testman

Upgraded Office 2000 to Office 2007 SP1, and am now having the
often-described problem of not being to open Excel files via doubleclick.
Other Office apps work OK, and the files can be opened from within Excel.

I have verified that "Ignore other applications..." is unchecked, emptied
the XLSTART folder and run Office diagnostics. I have no networked drives. As
noted elsewhere, if you minimize or maximize the hung window, the file opens
immediately! I also see that when doubleclicking on other Office files, there
first appears a splash screen for the program before the file is opened--no
splash screen ever appears when doubleclicking Excel files. Can this be a
clue? Any help would be appreciated.
