Excel shuts down when I open a certain file

I am working on a 6 month old G4(mac). When I try to open a certain
excel file off of my server, excel shuts down. There are no macros
and I unchecked the macro virus protection in my preferences. The
file is not connected with any other. There are formulas, but they
gather information from itself. Everyone else in my office can open
the file. Also, I can open other excel files. Plus, I've shut down
every other application to insure I have enough memory. I can't
decided if it is the file, the machine or excel. If you have any
trouble shooting ideas, please let me know.

Thanks,
Jenny

What versions of Excel are you and the other computers in the office
running? Do you get any error message?

Hi, I'm working on Excel X with OS 10. All the other machines are
iMacs with the same software. The error message states "Excel has
shut down unexpectantly, No other programs have been affected." I
recently updated my office package via Mactopia so that is not it.
Please let me know if you have any advice.

Have you repaired disk permissions?

OS 10.2.x: Run the Disk Utility (in the ./Applications/Utilities
folder). From the First Aid tab, click "Repair Disk Permissions".

OS 10.1.5: Run Repair Privileges (same folder, or download from
Apple: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106900
