False Split showing on Gantt

I have several task splits showing on my Gantt chart. If I split the window
with a usage view (task or resource) and the gantt chart, the task is showing
being worked on during the period shown on the Gantt. However, a dotted line
(split) appears in the Gantt between the end of the task bar and the next
dependant task. It's almost like a lag, but I've checked and there's no lag
indicated in the successor/predecessor fields. Any thoughts?

Hello mcbrilt,

Are the tasks fixed duration? There are times when a fixed duration
task's duration gets extended because of a change in resource
calendars. If the task is subsequently rescheduled, the resource's
finish date/time on the task is earlier than the tasks finish
date/time. This can create the trailing split. Check the
assignment finish and the task finish in the usage view. To fix,
change the task to fixed units (or fixed work) the assignment finish
date/time and the task finish date/time should now equal.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Try setting to fixed work or fixed units -- I would expect to see
the task finish date/time equal the assignment finish date/time.
