FF relationship not working ???

J

JPD

Task A is the predecessor to Task B, the relationship is Finish to
Finish.

Both task A & B have started. If I change the finish date on task
A ... the finish date on task B change should change?

It does not seem to be working for me...

any help appreciated.

Thanks,
J

Hello JPD,

I suppose you postponed the finish date of task A and that you expected a
split on task B so that its finish date follows A finish.
Try : tools / Options / Schedule : check the Split in-progress task box.
Hope this helps,

That option was laready selectd and it did not "split".

I don't exactlly want a spilt, I just want the work to show continuing
until the other finishes. Is the only way to do this is to increase
the duration??

I'm used to using Primavera which would just move the finish date on
Task B.

If you want to increase the duration of Task B, replace the FF link between
the 2 tasks by a DDE link:
Copy the finish date of task A : Ctrl C
Select the Finish date of Task B
Edit / Paste Special... / Paste Link

That seems to fix the initial problem. What about if the successor
has multiple FF predecessors?

JPD,

This DDE feature allows only one link in each cell.
