File won't open

Using Windows 2000 Professional, Word 2000.
File was created on hard drive and now won't open.
Message I get when trying to open the file is this:

"The document name or path is not valid. Try these
suggestions. *Check the file permissions for document or
drive. *Use the file open dialog box to locate the
document. (C:\...\Open Purchase Order Report.doc)"

This file has a lot of graphics, size 1.62 MB. When I
closed the file yesterday, all was normal. Any
suggestions anyone?

With Word running, can you open it from within Word? If so, you may need to
reregister Word with Windows. If you need to do this, write back and someone
will tell you how.

No, the file won't open when I do File/Open. Same error
message. I've tried renaming the file. Still no luck.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not,
but recently I received a new hard drive here at work.
All my files had been created using Windows NT, Office
2000. I now have Windows 2000 Professional, still using
Office 2000. When I created this file, I first opened a
file which had been created under Windows NT and did
a "Save as..." because I wanted the same formatting in
that file. Could there be a conflict between the two
Windows programs?

Regarding reregistering Word with Windows, I will need
some direction on that. Thank you.

Some of the solutions work in web address you gave except
that my file was chucked full of graphics. They were the
most important part of the document. There were not many
words. So, unfortunately, it's all gone, and I will have
to recreate the file. That's over 3 hours of work. But,
at least it's re-creatable! Thank you for all your help.
