Finding double entries?

Helmut Mack

Hi,
Assuming I have a long list of names. Does Word 2000 have a feature
which will find double entries even if they are not next to each other? If
not, is there another Program that can do this? Thanks for any Information,
Helmut

You might want to toss the list into Excel. From there, you can use
the Data > Filter > Advanced Filter feature. Filter the data and be
sure to click UNIQUE Records Only. Also, choose another location in
which to pass the results, such as to a different worksheet. This will
give you a list of all the unique items and you can delete the old
sheet or just copy all the new/unique data back into Word.

Thanks so much Dian and Graham for your quick response, looks like I'll need
to learn a few things before I can realize your suggestions.
The Best, Helmut
