Force Check-in Enterprise Objects

R

Robert

Hello,
I have a lot of projects which are remaining Checked Out for several weeks.
I tried to Force Check-in Enterprise Objects in PWA without any success.
I tried to Clean up the cache in Project Pro : the projects are still
Checked Out
I tried to clean manually the Cache on my DD : the projects are still
Checked Out

Question 1 : What can I do to check these projects in ?
Question 2 : What can be the issue on my server so that it generates so many
errors ?

Thanks for your help

I tried also to stop the Queuing process in a command window:
Net stop "Microsoft Office Project Server Queue Service"
But I got 2 messages :
"Microsoft Office Project Server Queue Service is shutting down"
"Microsoft Office Project Server Queue Service could not shut down"

Any idea?
Thanks

Dear Robert,
I would advice you to check the queue from the server settings menus, find
which task is blocking the queue and try to cancel it, if it doesn't work go
to the application server, open services.msc and stop the microsoft project
server queue service, sometimes needs not only a restart but to stay a while
stopped and started again.
After that try to delete the task from the queue, for my experiences after
these two steps you' ll be done.

Hope this help you.

Let me know.

Matteo

At last I found a post of Vadim Gerya. This process worked for me:

Clear the PROJ_CHECKOUT_BY column in the Draft database.

The steps are as follows:

Go to SQL Management Studio :

1) Click on Draft database

2) Open MSP_PROJECTS table

3) Find your "ghost" project strings.

4) Find PROJ_CHECKOUT_BY column (approximately in the middle of table)

5) Set NULL in column above for ghost project string : [Ctrl + 0]

6) Try to delete project from PWA

I have found that after i clear the que, i reopen from the
cache.....even though is says it is in a read only mode and checked
out. Then I save it and close it again. That will usually allow me
to open it back up from the server. But other then this instance i
NEVER open schedules from the cache. That seems to casue more harm
then good.
