Graphics keep Disappearing

For some reason, My graphics in Publisher 2000 keep
disappearing when I open my documents. Does anyone know
why that is happening? I don't know what to do!!!

When I open my document, my picyures will be there for
only about 2 seconds then they disappear and I get a big X
in the place of my graphic?

PLEASE HELP!!!!
