Help: Office will not even start Up

I got a computer with Office XP on it. I was able to
enter MS Word but other than ordinary typing I could not
do anything with out it crashing. If I try to open any
other offce application it crashes. It would not even
start. I uninstalled the Office XP and installed Office
2000 and now the MS Word that I was able to type in I
cannot even open with out it crashing. The message I get
is that "Word encountered a problem and is closing."
Nothing else.

Any help?
