Help, please - vista & office 2002!

I'd installed only Word from my Office 2002 disk and now I can't install
anything else. Been advised to uninstall and start again, but now I'm getting
system administrator errors - I don't have permission. I AM the system
administrator, I've tried poking about with permissions giving myself full
control, etc., but I'm having no luck. I've installed Office 2002 on a
desktop and now Word from it on a new notebook. The notebook had to go in for
repairs and the hard drive was replaced so I've had to reinstall Word. Now I
want to add Excel and it's "not available." Can someone help, please?!
grovel, grovel :-(

Sorry, I'm not that techno savvy: what's Office's "MSI entries," and where
specifically do I find them? Please spell it out for me, if you don't mind.

if you go to the linked website, you will find a download link for the
cleanup tool.(Follow "Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package
now.")

Install the program and run it. You will find a list of all the programs
installed on the system, search for office and click on remove.

Thank you, Gyorgy, I'll give it a go when I get stuck again. Right now
office is "behaving" so I'll leave well enough alone.
