How come I can only save online images as bitmap?

When I goto save an Image from a web site i can only save the image as a
bitmap. I am a web programmer and i need to be able to save images from the
web as a .jpg or .gif. Could you please get back to me and help me solve this
problem.

It's time to perform some routine computer maintenance:

Go to Start > Run and type: CLEANMGR.EXE , and hit enter.
This will start your disk cleanup utility. Make sure to cleanup
your Temporary Internet Files.
